The Vision Development Foundation (VDF) is a charitable Non-Governmental Organization,  founded by Mr.MODOU TURO DARBOE a Gambian businessman and philanthropist using his wealth to raise the living standard of the less privileged in societiy.

About Us

 

The Vision Development Foundation (VDF) is a charitable Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered as an NGO in 2006. The foundation is also registered with The Association of Non-governmental Organizations (TANGO). It was founded by Mr.MODOU TURO DARBOE a Gambian businessman and philanthropist using his wealth to raise the living standard of the less privileged in societies and is generally recognised by the Gambia and her citizens.

Since its inception the foundation has been involved in many projects in various sectors such as Education, Health care, Social and Humanitarian aid, Public and Community empowerment. VDF  also support entrepreneurial development; provision of safe and clean drinking water; urban regeneration; humanitarian and relief services; and invest in the development and welfare of youth and women.

Mr DARBOE, an icon of hope for most communities has the years provide support to farmers and farm inputs and implements to scores of farmers, most of whom are women and often have to juggle domestic duties and agricultural work  sowing, weeding and harvesting crops, but also making food for their families and collecting firewood and water.

Vision Development Foundation is blessed with experienced and committed board and has established successful collaboration with its delegated regulatory bodies and  also seeking to partner with other likeminded national and international organisations.

The objective is to advance the foundation's mission in The Gambia by prioritizing security, non-discrimination, aiding the poor and needy, and combating infectious diseases.

To eradicate hunger, poverty and respond to the needs of the less privileged particularly women, youths in which every person enjoys a right to a life of dignity

Education

VDF supports institutions and individuals who pursue novel causes and pathways that have the potential to solve community-based problems. We provide tuition, scholarships and educational materials for these reasons. Our Entrepreneurship support seeks to provide students and other individuals with the knowledge, skills and motivation to encourage entrepreneurial success in a variety of settings.

Healthcare Services

VDF endeavors to compliment governments efforts in responding to challenge of the ever-growing Gambian population and its pressure on the provision of adequate healthcare services

Disaster Response & Relief

We see no religion, political and an ethnic affiliation whenever we extend a helping hand. Our Humanitarian aid service extends to the provision of material or logistical assistance to humanitarian agencies and government institutions typically in response to humanitarian crises including natural disasters and man-made ones.

Women & Youth Empowerment

The VDF has over the years provide farm inputs and implements to scores of farmers, most of whom are women. Life for rural women isn’t easy. Women don’t have the same rights as men and often have to juggle domestic duties and agricultural work – sowing, weeding and harvesting crops, but also making food for their families and collecting firewood and water.

Almost seventy different communities, organizations and institutions across the country benefits from rice and sugar from the vision development foundation in their annual Ramadan sugar and rice gifts across the country .
